An early 18th-century Swedish Baroque brass lantern, circa 1720. The large-scale fixture features a pierced and domed brass canopy above a tapered, multi-pane glass and brass structural frame, terminating in a turned bottom drop finial. The piece is a documented historical form; a comparable example is referenced in Sigurd Erixon's 1943 publication, Mässing - Svenska manufakturer och konsthantverkprodukter under 400 år (p. 253).
