Unusually large Swedish 19th century Empire Gilt-wood Mirror. Constructed with a pine frame featuring water-gilded wood and composition ornament. The structure is surmounted by a carved pediment crown depicting a ribbon tied around a flower bouquet. Below the molded, beaded cornice, an upper rectangular frieze panel displays a grisailles-painted classical scene featuring dancing figures, a bowl, and an urn set against a dark background. Flanking the upper section are vertical fluted pilasters. The primary mirrored section is framed by a molded gold-leaf border with a black-painted glass inner border and houses a bevel-edged glass mirror plate. A secondary horizontal frieze below the mirror glass features a grisaille painted band depicting classical cherubs and urns above a molded base.
