Pair of 19th century Gustavian gilt wood chairs with hoof feet. Signed by Ephraim Sthal (1767-1820). Supplier to the Royal Court and one of the most sophisticated and inventive makers of his period. ca 1800 Stockholm, Sweden

Provenance: Sirishov (also Sirishof ) is a villa not far from Rosendals Castle on Djurgården in Stockholm. The oldest part of the villa dates from the 1760s and has
been a listed building since 23 October 1989. The building is blue-labelled by the Stockholm City Museum, which means "that the building is considered to have
exceptionally high cultural and historical values".
