18th-Century Swedish Baroque Alder Root Veneer Console Table.
Constructed with a rectangular top featuring a veneered panel surface with mitered framing. The frieze houses a single full-width drawer faced with figured alder root veneer, fitted with brass rosette ring pulls and a central ornate brass keyhole escutcheon. The case rests upon four flat-profile, sweeping legs that have been historically repainted in black. These supports are joined by a deeply profiled stretcher and terminate in turned bun feet.

Condition: Structurally sound. The top surface and frieze exhibit heavy age-related veneer shrinkage, cracking, and historical patching. The historically black-painted base and stretcher display prominent edge wear, abrasions, and paint loss that exposes the lighter wood substrate beneath. The brass hardware shows natural oxidation. The piece presents an overall heavily patinated, authentic historic surface.
