Bertil Herlow Svensson was a self-taught master of structural art who achieved legendary status in Swedish art history during the mid-1960s. This exact technical style, utilizing aluminum frames and wire mesh to manipulate perception, served as his ticket to national stardom. In 1967, Svensson was selected as a key artist for Multikonst, a groundbreaking national project organized by Konstfrämjandet, Sweden's National Radio-TV, and Riksutställningar. The initiative opened 100 identical exhibitions simultaneously across Sweden to democratize modern art. Svensson’s participation with a closely related gridded work (10 x 10) cemented his reputation as a pioneer of Swedish kinetic sculpture and led directly to his debut at the prestigious Galerie Aronowitsch in Stockholm. Purchasing an original 1960s floor cube from this specific, highly sought-after era offers a rare opportunity to own a foundational piece of Swedish mid-century avant-garde history.
